LAKEWOOD, Colo. (May 13th, 2021) – The Traverse Ownership, in conjunction with the Creativity Lab of Colorado and 40 West Arts District, is seeking a visually stimulating and memorable art installation on the east and north facades of their parking structure. The artist selected for the installation is tasked to convey a positive, vibrant, and uplifting feel. This art opportunity, with an overall project budget of up to $150,000, is intended to leverage its unique location along the W Line and proximity to the 40 West ArtLine to create a memorable large-scale installation.

The selection process is set to be completed by July with the work completed by March 2022. The work will overlook the W Line light rail station, area walking & biking trails, and the 40 West ArtLine’s Mountair Park.

“We’re delighted to bring more large-scale projects like this to the ArtLine. It’s a tribute to the Traverse Ownership group and their recognition of the value and impact of art and creative placemaking,” said Kevin Yoshida, a co-founder of The Creativity Lab and board chair of the local business improvement district. “Following the success of the group of murals, called the Wild Urban Medicine by Katy Casper, installed in 2020 on the ArtLine on Lamar Street by Riverpoint Partners, we’re please to see more private investment in large-scale art in our corridor.”
