Applications are now CLOSED for the April 6th round of funding.

We’ve received more applications than we can fund, even at the minimum level. The first round of applications will still be reviewed and those qualified will be funded by April 13th. Any applications that are not funded will automatically be reviewed again in the second round, if we receive additional funds. We are working with local and state agencies to secure additional funding in order to help more businesses. There are numerous other resources available for local business. The application is now CLOSED until we identify additional funds; we cannot give a definitive date for the next round of funding, if any. We will release additional information as it comes available through our newsletters and our social media feeds.

About the Lakewood-West Colfax Small Business Fund:

The public health crisis and ensuing economic impact caused by COVID-19 is affecting us all. Our local creative and small businesses are particularly hard hit. This Small Business Fund is designed to provide short-term help to creative enterprises and small businesses (primarily businesses with 10 employees or fewer) impacted by the COVID-19 virus. The fund is administered by the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District, in collaboration with the West Colfax Community Association, 40 West Arts District, and the donors who have contributed to this fund. Our local organizations are working closely with City, County, and State agencies to do everything we can to help local business. While this fund is limited, we know it will help, at least a little, as we compile other, broader resources for our community. (See additional COVID-19 Resources here.)

  • To qualify for this fund, applicant businesses must be located in the City of Lakewood and operate within the West Colfax service area outlined by the red line on the map above. (If you are not sure, submit your application and the review committee will confirm your eligibility.)

  • Grants are available from $250 to $1500 and will be administered by the Lakewood-West Colfax Business Improvement District. Applications are due by April 6th. Award announcements will be made by April 13th.

  • These funds are for short-term needs as we help businesses access other state and federal disaster assistance loans and grants.

  • We are likely to receive many more applications than we can fund. The fund administrator, in its sole discretion, will determine the number of applications funded and the level of funding.

We are NOT accepting more Fund Applications at this time.
